TaeKwonDo literally means the “way of kicking and punching.” TaeKwonDo, the most recognized Korean Martial Art was first acknowledged as a system in the 1950’s when leading Korean martial artists unified their various art forms into one style of hand and feet fighting. Since then, the popularity of the sport has grown continuously in the U.S. and internationally.
Training at Lewis TaeKwonDo, there is no age, sex or racial barriers; everyone begins their training with a white belt. Grand Master Lewis allows each practitioner to progress at their own rate in accordance to their ability. During this learning, the student can expect to develop strength, stamina, quickness, flexibility, coordination and balance. To fully master the sport, one must also develop the important mental characteristics; patience, humility, self control, perseverance, concentration and respect.
